Honey Diet - A sweeter alternative

We, especially Indians, have the worst of all habits to ignore on our eating habits. We never actually understood the benefits of healthy diet. We have a set of cuisines which help us to increase the size of our belly. Totally ignoring those kind of snacks or sweets is not an option as everyone wants to hop on them. But eating them in control is definitely an option and we need to have very very healthy diet to balance those unhealthy sweets and snacks.

Now our attitude is exactly opposite of it. We eat all the unhealthy snacks and sweets in large quantities till it starts showing effects. Our weight increases eventually, our tummy starts getting outside our pant. And slowly slowly all the areas where the fats can be stored in our body start looking like swollen parts. Then we immediately get tensed about our increasing weight and start searching on internet for fastest and most cruel ways to burn those fats. Unsurprisingly there are millions of ways to do that. We can call it as crash diet solutions. So in simple words crash diet is nothing but cruel ways to burn the extra fats and torture your body and emotions. The various ways like eat this and that in this amount etc. etc.

But we have the best option of going for healthy diet solutions. It is nothing but eating all the food in right manner. Now you must be wondering what the right manner is. It is nothing but using healthy oil, some healthy options for sugar etc. Basically using healthy alternate ways for all the weight increasing ingredients in our daily food.

Surf it All! Surf it Fast!

Cricket is a sport which runs through our blood and when India is playing we leave all our works and many Indians don't bother about their work and they watch full match on TV. But for many its not possible. They hardly get few minutes throughout the day to check the score and bad internet connection, tedious browsers, overloaded websites help them to lose their interest in the match causing irritation.

When I checked out Yuvraj Singh's advertisements about UC browser and UC cricket I instantly downloaded the browser and experimented on it by checking the score for recently started England - Australia Ashes series. I don't want to name other browsers, but UC browser works really fast and Yuvraj says in ads, it gets faster and fastest eventually. UC cricket is one smooth option, but if the viewers want to visit some other websites then they can easily do that as UC browser doesn't really get affected by slow internet connection or overloaded websites.

The best thing is UC cricket. It runs very very smoothly. Within seconds of time you can view not only the score but also the small-small details about the match. All the information just stay in front of your eyes and everything is just a click away. There is a different section for news where you can read the match report or the player profiles, the war of words between the captains etc. There is different section for the videos, if you want to watch the best matches from past, you can very easily watch them without any tedious search process. All videos are just there. If you miss the latest match or you could only keep track of the score but you want to watch the fours, sixes, and the wickets later then you watch the highlights just after the first inning's break or just after the match.

You can't believe but there is more to it. You can find about future matches, series just in advance. There is a track of everything. You can read about all the gossips in in cricket world, about the fights and ego counters in dressing rooms etc. There are polls and guessing game in UC cricket where you can pick your favorite playing elevens or you can guess the winner of the game. There is also a cricket game and you if you are a gamer kind of person then you can totally enjoy it. If you don;t have much patience to read whole articles then there is a separate section for quotes and you can just keep track of who said what before the match and after the match in press conferences. You can even shop the jerseys of your favorite team and other cricket accesories on UC cricket. The whole cricket experience is full of fun on UC cricket. And the speed and capability of UC browser make it wonderful.

Do visit: http://www.ucweb.com/ and get the UC Cricket from here.

#ComeCloser to Radiant Skin

This is a guest blog post by my mother as the topic is women centric and my mother has expertise in it.

I have tried natural as well as non - Ayurvedic imported and Indian made cosmetic products and later experienced that the inorganic products do no good to our skin and in fact they are very harmful. Hence it is highly advisable that everyone should try and practice only and only natural Ayurvedic methods and products. So following are the natural methods which one can easily use to keep their skin healthy and glowing:

1. Watermelon juice: The juice of the watermelon can be used as a moisturizer for face. It is very good for the skin and removes excess oil from the skin which cures many skin problems like acne and pimples. It proves to be a natural moisturizer and toner for the face and keeps the skin glowing and well hydrated. When your body is hydrated, the production of collagen is promoted and you get a firm and young-looking skin. Watermelon is loaded with Vitamin A that assists to reduce the size of pores on your skin and consequently, minimize excessive secretion of oil. The acids contained in watermelon work have exfoliating properties to make your skin radiant.

2. Gram flour: It is called as 'besan' in Hindi. It is generally mixed with the raw milk and can be directly applied on the face and the neck. The benefits of applying gram flour are many such as removing tan, skin lightening, reducing oiliness, preventing our face from getting pimples etc. It is advisable to scrub it on the face so that skin will glow after washing it off. It can also be used as a body scrub and it gives instant fairness.

3. Cucumber pulp: It is also one of the most effective natural method. Take the cucumber pulp and add few drops of lemon juice in it and apply it on the face. Keep it for twenty minutes and use cold water to wash it off. You will surely feel a difference if you use this face pack three to four times a week. It will even your skin tone and beautify you only within a couple of weeks. You can use cucumber as a nice face pack. Add one cucumber after cutting them into a couple of slices in a blender. Now add some honey and lemon juice to it. Apply this all over the face and keep it for half an hour. You may also wash it off with cold water and then dry your face with a towel. This pack is significant for those who would like to reduce tanning on their skin and achieve a fairer and lighter complexion. If you are seeing fine lines and wrinkles on your skin, get rid of such problems by using some cucumber. All you have to do is drink some cucumber juice. You can also take some cucumber juice and massage your skin with it on a daily basis. This will make your skin so much more radiant and youthful.

You can also check this product which is made from the Ayurvedic ingredients: "VICCO Turmeric Cream"

Kellogg’s Waale Guptaji Ki Family

I sincerely did not know that one can eat corn flakes in these many different ways. When I visited the Facebook page I got awestruck with the number of mind blowing recipes. I have heard before about Kellogg's corn flakes when my sister went on diet mode. But if there are such awesome recipes then I would like to turn to corn flakes for breakfast and snacks.

The recipes are very tasty and very easy and fast to prepare. The first recipe I checked out was 'Passing the Parcel Wala Nashta'. I never imagined that it will taste such heavenly. It was a very simple recipe with corn flakes, custard apple pulp and cold milk. I am a Maharashtrian and you may know one evening snack which we love the most is 'Chivda' and guess what Guptaji has a recipe for that too. I seriously never dreamed that I would eat chivda made up of corn flakes one day. The number of ingredients are many but directions are very easy at the same time. But one can take some efforts to gather the ingredients if he really cares about his evening 'nashta'.

The next recipe I checked was just unbelievable: 'First Crush Wala Nashta'. If we start preparing these recipes and become like Guptaji, I don't think anyone will stop coming to our houses. One can really impress a girl if he prepares this dish. The recipe made me believe that one can really lose his weight in the most healthy manner if starts eating kellogg's corn flakes dishes. Name of the next recipe was 'Jagah Banane Wala Nashta' in which we can include strawberries and banana slices. Inclusion of fruits make the dish delicious and our life healthier. The youth is crazy about junk food and when we go out for a movie or outing we always need those salty or caramel popcorn in our hands. Next recipe I checked out was 'Movie Wala Nashta'. One can prepare delicious cornflake popcorn clusters at home. Now we can also visit Guptaji's family with our parents because Kellogg has developed recipes for each and everyone.

I checked out few recipes and already started deciding which recipe to prepare first. Hence I would like to visit Guptaji's house with my entire family so that my mother can find out about those awesome recipes. My sister can take her diet challenge more seriously and with double enthusiasm when she will get to know that she can still eat awesome food with kellogg's corn flakes recipes. I want my dad just to relax and enjoy the delicious dishes. And what I want to do will blow your mind. I would like to enjoy those hundred recipes one by one and want to trouble my mind to invent the hundred and first recipe.

Coca-Cola International Day of Happiness

The topic is nothing but to tell about those single things which make us happy. In fact this is the key of happy life to find happiness in small small things and not to worry much about the sad part.

So as this is Coca-Cola International Day of Happiness I would first start with Coke studio. Whenever I feel sad, bored, frustrated and many such worthless emotions I go to my collection of Coke studio videos and start listening one of the great compositions of the decade by ARR, Amit Trivedi, Salim Sulaiman etc. It gives me immense happiness and I can easily start my next work after listening four-five songs. I really appreciate the efforts by Coke which is increasing the number of quality music listeners not only in India but all over the world.

One more thing I do very often which gives me happiness and right now I am doing it: blogging. It gives me opportunity to speak out with maximum effect and in the most silent way and the happiness when we receive positive feedback from readers is priceless. I started blogging nearly two years back and have successfully writer seven short stories for which I received overwhelmingly positive response. Similar to blogging, I keep reading great blogs from the Indiblogger directory and it gives me motivation to write more and also it makes my mind to think more and more for the unique ideas.

Reading is one of those small things which I do regularly which keeps me happy always. I always feel like one life is not at all enough to read all the great authors. I started reading English literature with the books by Sidney Sheldon, Jefferey Archer, Dan Brown etc. And right now I am reading Ken Follet and Ayn Rand. It is such a pleasure to have reading as a hobby.

From my childhood I always wanted to wander and visit different places. Though it is not a small thing but whenever I get time I go for two days treks or trips on weekends to find that happiness in the busy weekdays life. The curiosity and happiness to visit new places keep me engaged in my weekdays work happily and I never feel bored.

Last but not the least thing is watching English, Hindi and Marathi movies and English serials. I always wonder how these directors and script writers in USA always manage to come up with great stories which keep you engaged till the last episode of the last season. I started with the genres like humor, comedy, and crime. Serials like Castle, Homeland, The Big Bang Theory, and  Friends are my all time favorites.

One things should not be ignored and that is to go for a Coke break with friends during the small breaks between lectures. Coke is such an awesome beverage which makes the bonding between friends stronger and stronger.

Housing.com : Together

I really started looking up at housing for giving us these opportunities again and again to recall the best memories in our lives and look up to the future with optimism. Whenever I recall a family get together where I learned so much our trip to Jammu nod Kashmir comes to my mind. It was a hectic trip planned as one cannot guarantee whether we will really get an another chance to visit heaven on earth - the Kashmir valley.

The challenges and fun started on the day 1 which was one of the most memorable days. Our first day was scheduled at Katra in Jammu to visit the temple of goddess Vaishnodevi. We couldn't get helicopter rides for round trip and we decided to climb the mountain and make the trip to the temple worth. Helicopter ride was ready for the return journey. As we had inquired before taking any decision our friends told us that it takes around 5 hours to climb the Vaishnodevi mountain. We started with full enthusiasm and maximum optimism. But the distance was too far. First two hours went into chit-chatting and we couldn't feel the distance. But slowly slowly my father, uncle, and aunt started feeling tired and dizzy. But they never felt like giving up at any point. The options like horse riding, hiring four-five people to bring you up there in a wooden open box which is called 'doley' in Hindi were always tempting to give up. But we reached at the temple at top only with the help of optimism.

After the adventure and receiving more satisfaction than our efforts at Vaishnodevi, we headed for Kashmir valley and we got stunned by the beauty it is hiding inside. All the towns and cities in Kashmir were simple beautiful. One cannot visit Kashmir without facing any obstacles. But when I saw the heights of mountains in Kashmir valley I felt for the first time that I want to achieve something in my life. I want to live my dreams not only for myself but for my family so that we can have such family gatherings again and again in different parts of the world. The knowledge of my dad and my uncles and their presence of minds to handle small problems made me awestruck and gave me a full bag of brains how to look up to this life and make maximum out of it.

It wasn't a day of family get-together but it was a one week trip where I rediscovered how to live this life with optimism can witness the heaven on earth. We ended our trip by visiting the Jammu city and did some shopping for our family and friends. When I came to my home in Mumbai which is a city of dreams I recalled my sweet memories of Kashmir trip which taught me it is not enough to only see dreams but we have to achieve them and make them a reality with optimism!

Housing.com: Start A New Life

It is such a nice opportunity to speak out which is given by housing.com about what we did in our life to overcome the challenges and obstacles we faced. There are quite a few bold decisions I have taken in my life which changed my life completely and gave it a different direction every time.

I always dreamed of going to an IIT to do engineering. I was very passionate about it. I always loved Mathematics and was decent in Physics but was totally bad in Chemistry which stopped me from getting selected in the first attempt. But I was very adamant to do engineering only in national colleges and was not ready to compromise on it though I was getting an admission into one of the top colleges in Mumbai. There I took the first bold decision of my life to go for the second attempt for JEE - Joint Entrance Exam for all IITs. I studied day and night and covered each and every topic. But somehow Chemistry killed my chances again and I joined National Institute of Technology, Trichy.

When I completed my first semester I was equally excited about engineering as I was before but when actually core subjects started coming into the picture I felt the whole engineering very much theoretically than experimental and I started losing my interest. But there were quite a few technical clubs in college like robotics and aerodynamics etc. but at the same time there were equally bright opportunities like marketing and entrepreneurship teams of our cultural and technical festivals. The second bold decision I took in my second year of engineering when I chose marketing team over technical clubs which totally changed the direction of my career. I came to know from my seniors that if I choose to go for marketing team then core companies which come for placements will definitely question my interest in engineering and I will be ending my chances to join a core company. So it was a calculated risk. I realized that there are equally good opportunities in the field of marketing and later I can even do MBA. So it was the bold step of my life as I always dreamed of doing engineering in a national college and now I am totally into marketing which totally changed the picture of my career.

Later in my final year of engineering I got placed in a management company through campus placements. But again, few more bold decisions are going to be taken in my life. Like I got the awareness about entrepreneurship. The thrill and risks one should take and the fun and satisfaction in opening a startup caught my attention and I am looking forward to open a startup in the field of marketing in future. As housing.com is also a startup and I get inspiration from the story of housing as they took some bold decisions which changed their lives and I would like to follow the same path.

My Look Up Story

This not a single moment but it happened several times and each and every time I felt very proud and I got so much positivity about my future that I can also do something big and unique in life. I remember when I was in sixth standard I got selected in the drama team of our school which was quite popular in the city as we used to open for inter collegiate drama competitions. We even participate in National level drama competition for schools which happened in Cuttak, Orissa and we came first in all the teams came from all the Indian states. Then we started getting invitations from several drama or other organizations to perform in their annual functions.

At once such time our group was invited to perform in an inaugural ceremony of a central library in our city, Thane and we gladly went there and performed. My father was sitting in the audience watching our play nth number of times but that day it was different. Very senior level people who were teachers, principles in schools had come to watch our play. And as I was playing an important role they were showering praise on me. My  father felt so proud of me. The library was nearby my house and we decided to walk to go back to home. That day first time I heard the story of my dad, his education, struggle, upbringing and what not!

My dad was from a farmer’s family and his grandfather was one of the successful farmers in his town. But then my grandfather didn’t follow my great grandfather in farming and became an accountant and started doing it for shops, small ventures etc. But money wasn’t good in the field of accounting at that time of around 1960 to 1990. One day my grandfather got an opportunity to come to Mumbai to take an account contract of a dairy farm. Then my dad got an exposure in a well established city and he finished his higher secondary school in Mumbai. My dad has 4 sisters and he was the only earning male after my grandfather passed away. So my dad joined a company after his 12th and he was doing his degree course side by side. His schedule used to be pretty tight. He used to work in that company from morning 7 to 4 and then he had to travel to a place called Dadar at 5 in the evening to attend classes for banking exams. It was a year of hardship and dedication. Finally he got a job in a bank and our financial conditions started improving. It was and still is such a motivating story for me as he always made sure that I always get all the facilities which he missed to complete my eduction and build a right career for me. Thank you dad!

Befikar Umar Bhar

This is a very interesting topic to write about because everyone dream but very few try their best to complete them. We call those people winners who complete their dreams but it doesn't mean that others are simply losers. Every one has some things in their life which hold them back from their dreams and force them to choose other options and they have to let go their dreams. I am not different from them. Hence this topic today gave me opportunity to bring back those dreams in to my mind again and  at least write them out.

The first thing on my bucket list would be the world tour! Thanks to my dad that he is a bank employee and I always got to visit different places from my childhood in India as it used to come under my dad's allowances. Hence tourism always found the top place on my bucket list. I would like to visit all the famous cities in world, and want to taste local food there. I want to make friends with local people there and take millions of pictures of people, their expressions and obviously the mysterious nature.

The second wish is very much related to the first one. As I am always being a foodie I always wanted to become taste  taster.  I want to taste all the delicious dishes which are being made in this world. My life will be so awesome if my job is only to eat new dishes and comment on them. My this wish grew stronger and stronger since shows like master chef started followed by channels like Food Food. The life will be truly befikar if I get to taste those delicious and mouth watering dishes.

Third third would be to read as many novels as I can read in this life without doing any other work. The literature in English and also in all Indian languages is so huge that one life is definitely not enough. I have a habit to make a wishlist of names on the books to read in future and I complete that list only if I have a befikar life. It would be a dream come true if my only job in life is to read books  in the bed and drink coffee.

Fourth wish is the most important one and easily targettable. I would like to open my own start-up and grow it as a successful business. Financial failure is the main reason which is holding me back and at any time in my life I won’t like to be bankrupt. But again, taking risks is a part of life but if my life would be befikar I can take all these risks very easily.

The fifth and not the last wish in my bucket list would be to buy a villa facing sea, mostly in Mumbai and to live a luxurious life. This wish is the costliest in all five and I could try to do it only if I get a lottery and my life is befikar.

Well, I have so many things in my bucket list and it would be only a dream if I can live befikar umar bhar life without any holdings back. But achieving to complete these wishes with a normal life would be an interesting challenge.

Quikr NXT: No Fikar. Chat Quikr.

At one side when e-commerce atmosphere is taking big jumps in India and tempting Indians to buy new products without waiting for any festival or birthdays nut whenever we want. But the question always remains that how can we buy new laptop or mobile phones or any other product when the last one we bought just one year back and its still wall maintained and looks almost like a new one. And that is when we go to visit Quikr. And when one wants the branded or costly products in a good condition and at very cheap prices then people like me visit Quikr. It is really a very good platform for classifieds and one can even hunt for jobs, events, services, or flats on the same website.

When we try to buy an used product it is very difficult for the buyer to get convinced. And as per Indian attitude of inspecting the product properly before buying does not allow us just to click and buy. Now getting in touch with all the sellers till we get the right product at a right cost will be a hectic job. The first reason why I prefer the chat over calls is that it is a time consuming process to call all the sellers and spend 2-5 minutes with each to know everything about the product. Instead I can I just forward my same questions to all the sellers in a one go and then can continue the discussion with the most suitable answers. I can even ask no. of questions at any time without any hesitation and I can also have a chat proof (chat history) of whatever seller is promising.

The second reason would be the various features available on the chat like sharing photos. We can ask the seller to take photos from any angle and can immediately see them. Event the original papers like guarantee or warrantee cards can be shared through photo sharing. The third and most important reason is protection of personal information and privacy. Sellers are buyers are strangers to each other and connecting them over a phone call may lead to a bad conversation and worse reactions after that. Chat is more effective and safer option as our personal information like phone number will be protected and we don't have to talk to a stranger over a phone call. The main reason behind buying an used branded product is nothing but its cost. Now discussion all the details on phone will definitely give us a loss of calling charge and at the end it will increase the product value. Hence my fourth and last reason would be saving the extra spending in calling the buyer by chatting in the app as comparatively the internet consumption charges for chatting will be very minimal. Also, in the sellers' point of view, if they have to call the buyer then it will decrease their profit too and hence chat is very suitable for them too. Most of the sellers on Quikr are definitely not looking at profit but they want to sell their products which they feel are in good condition so that they can go for latest trend or new variety. Hence he will also be desperate to send all the details like photos as mentioned above through chat. The chat makes it easier for seller to the sell the product in lesser time than to waste time in phone conversations. Happy shopping!

The Great Indian Litterbug

The great Indian litterbug inside us scared of dying at such a young stage when our honourable Prime minister launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. The great Indian litterbug still hasn't forgotten the scare of 500 rupees fine which is there in all the major cities. But that scare was beaten easily when he saw the traffic policemen spitting on roads who were supposed to be in charge of collecting those fines. It definitely increased his confidence to spit on roads anytime and anywhere. Such a democratic feeling it was! This confidence grew day by day when he found out the municipal corporations in all the cities appoint people to clean the garbage on the roads. He did the simple math and realized that those working men are getting pain from the tax he is paying. So as a responsible citizen he stopped using dustbins and started throwing garbage from his window directly on roads.

The great Indian litterbug forgot his shame, respect for his country and purpose of life when he started littering. And then there was no looking back because he knew that he was not alone. He never got the opportunity to spit on the walls very first time. The walls were always full of red and he just used to add his share of red. This Swachh bharat abhiyaan was really a big scare against all such litterbugs but when he saw so many people are arranging for garbage to clean it live on TV all the scare and fear ran away. And the big news came, 1 billion dollars funding for the abhiyaan from the World Bank which means the litterbug can happily live till the government spends successfully the 1 billion dollars in abhiyaan.

But truly speaking this great Indian litterbug campaign is the scariest of all. Because it is going viral on social media and we can't neglect the power of social media. From Narendra Modi to Alia Bhatt who got their fame and memes respectively only because of social media. All the litterbugs will now fear that the hidden Times of India journalists and their cameras will catch them in their shameful acts and tomorrow all of them will feature in the next video. Hence I really salute the team behind this campaign because this campaign will kill the great Indian litterbugs hidden inside every Indian! Next step should be the great Indian litterbug awards. All these people who are making our country smelly and dirty should get the worst award in the world. Today we managed to get funding from Worlds bank. We could have used it for unemployment, poverty etc. But we have to use it to clean our streets because some litterbugs forgot their responsibilities. Hence I am looking forward to this campaign which is getting its share of efforts and funding from TOI which will be useful to destroy these great Indian litterbugs and then we can concentrate only on our economic growth and other basic problems. Hope these great Indian litterbugs don’t delete the campaign videos and keep them in the garbage folder on computers called trash instead they will take a broom and will know the importance of cleanliness.

A Healthy Child Makes a Happy Home

The topic is very much true that a healthy child makes a happy home. I have so many personal experiences which really made my parents happy and proud. I was born little underweight and it was never a concern for my family because Indian parents generally don't think to make their child healthy but they just wish that their child must be thin and active. Thanks to my classmates as I was attracted towards various sports from my childhood. I used to go for training in athletics which was a rigorous job at the age of 7 when I joined it. My day used to start with 5 hours school in morning, homework and a little sleep in afternoon and athletics training in evening and dinner, spending time with parents and TV for an hour in night. The schedule wasn't easy for a 7 year old boy but I could live with it only because of health and thankfully because of parents' healthy attitude. The sole reason to join athletics was to stay healthy and fit for which my dad gives very much importance. From my nursery days I used to come first in class without spending much time in studies though it is hard to believe. But this exercise and healthy food made my memory sharp and made me very attentive in school. As the topic says a healthy child makes his home healthy and happy. I always experienced that I was always at the centre of attention at my home. My parents, granny and all the relatives always took care that what I eat and how I take up only good habits and make only good friends. So to make a child healthy and fit his/her whole family started eating healthy food and start exercising which is a lacking factor in India.

I still remember how my dad joined and learned swimming for me. His only favorite exercise was walking. But to teach me swimming he learned swimming and then taught me. I used to go for swimming on weekends when I used to have holidays for athletics practice. I did all these only for fun and I somehow liked to be busy at small age too. But later I realized the effect of those exercises and healthy food prepared by my mother when I started going for treks. I started with Nainital trek and then regularly went into Sahyadri ranges. Stamina the key factor in trekking and I earned in my childhood days. I still remember when my mother was ill because of low hemoglobin content. After that incident I found out she was lesser concerned about her hemoglobin than mine. She started giving all the iron rich food and kept me healthy. She also became healthy at the same time. It was the key. If we make our children healthy then definitely we will keep ourselves healthy resulting in a healthy and happy family.

I always used to like the advertisements of chyawanprash on TV and I always used to ask my mother to buy one. I have tested all the companies and all the types and it really must have helped me because I never got hospitalized and even used to catch cold only once in a year mostly. I will conclude by saying that the concentration of a family always remains on a child which makes the family complete. If a family takes the effort to keep the child healthy and fit then they gets time to concentrate on themselves and apparently they also stay healthy, fit and happy!
